My Electric Lawnmower is vibrating excessively

Created by Chris McHale, Modified on Thu, 11 Jun at 1:33 PM by Chris McHale

This article explains the most common causes of excessive vibration in your electric lawnmower and how to resolve them.

⚠️ Safety Notice

Ensure the lawnmower is switched off and disconnected from the power supply before inspecting or attempting any repairs.

Possible Cause

Excessive vibration is usually caused by an unbalanced or damaged blade.

This may happen if:

  • The blade has hit an obstacle in the garden
  • The blade is rusty or worn
  • The lugs on the blade adapter have sheared off

If any of the above apply, the blade will need to be replaced.

If the Blade Is Damaged and Stuck

If the blade is damaged and difficult to remove, follow these steps:

  1. Secure the blade using a suitable block (e.g. a wooden block) to prevent movement.
  2. Use a socket wrench on the blade fixing bolt.
  3. Turn the bolt anti-clockwise to loosen it.
  4. Apply steady force at first, then gradually unscrew the bolt completely.
  5. Remove the damaged blade.
  6. Fit the new blade onto the blade adapter.
  7. Refit and tighten the blade bolt securely.

If the Issue Persists

If vibration continues after replacing the blade, please contact Our Technical Support Team if your product is still within its warranty period.

✔️ Summary

  • Excessive vibration is usually caused by blade damage or imbalance
  • Check for impact damage, rust, or adapter issues
  • Replace blade if necessary
  • Use safe removal method if blade is stuck
